Headteacher’s Welcome

Welcome to Kilcreggan Primary School!

We are immensely proud of our dedicated staff and wonderful children. Our school is a vibrant community where cooperation, kindness, and inclusivity are at the heart of everything we do. We are thrilled to have been recognized as the fifth school in Argyll and Bute to receive the Gold Rights Respecting Schools award. Our children are not only caring and respectful but also show remarkable compassion and understanding towards others. We warmly welcome new members to our school community, confident that you will find a supportive and engaging environment here. Our staff are committed to looking out for all children, providing the help and support needed for each student to thrive. They are known for their humour and caring nature, ensuring a positive atmosphere for learning and growth.

At Kilcreggan Primary, learning extends beyond the classroom. We have an outdoor classroom and regularly engage in outdoor learning activities and community trips, both locally and further afield. Our unique approach includes collaborative projects where students from P1 to P7 work together, fostering teamwork and a sense of community.

Our environment and community responsibility is important to us; we support terracycling, maintain a clothes bank, and participate in eco-friendly initiatives. Throughout the year, our learners play an active role in planning their learning experiences and making decisions that affect our school. We plan and celebrate various events such as Scottish afternoons, Maths Week Scotland, World Book Day, Lots of Socks Day for Down’s Syndrome Scotland, and the Month of the Military Child. Additionally, we engage in local school competitions like Internet Safety.

During the year we offer a range of extracurricular clubs and participate in creative and sporting events, including Sports Days, transition events, and support for Christian Aid through swimming, football, and netball events. Our Parent Council is instrumental in raising funds through discos, bake sales, and fairs, enriching the school experience for everyone.
